Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Sometimes during difficult or stressful periods in our life, our patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours may become problematic.

These can contribute to, intensify or help cause a range of negative and distressing outcomes for us.These biased and often inaccurate patterns of thought are certainly not intentional and may not be aware to us.

However they can cause us to spiral down into a negative state. Such spirals cause us to undermine coping abilities and isolate us from key social supports.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an approach to psychotherapy which helps identify and explore patterns of thinking and behaving which are contributing to a negative emotional state.

Exploring these patterns and identifying inaccuracy, bias, distortion and helping to construct more helpful and accurate ones.
